With the widening demand supply gap, increasing energy costs and impact of unsustainable energy consumption on the environment, energy conservation and efficiency have assumed enormous importance of late.
The studies reveal that energy savings in India can be as high as 15,000 MW. Every unit of energy saved is energy generated. Realizing this, Govt. of India had enacted the Energy Conservation Act 2001 and constituted Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), as a statutory body under the Ministry of Power. The Act facilitates an enabling regulatory framework to encourage, implement and adoption of new energy efficient technologies. Several programmes have already been announced by BEE to promote energy efficiency in industries, utilities, appliances etc.
Zenith Energy has been contributing its in this task and offers
Services offered include conducting
- Waste minimization studies
- Energy audits
- Benchmarking
- Identifying potential areas for energy conservation and efficiency improvements
- Cost-benefit analysis
- Identifying potential areas for process related improvements that result in improved efficiency etc.
Also develops potential energy efficiency improvement projects under the Clean Development Mechanism of Kyoto Protocol, to benefit the implementing industries from the sale of carbon credits.
BEE has assigned number of cluster studies to Zenith in different states in areas such as textiles, chemicals, steel re-rolling and rice mills.
